Red Group Nursery

Our Red Group Nursery is an engaging and inspiring room for rising four year olds which provides an excellent foundation for preparing children for school. Children who have turned 3 before the start of academic year will be invited to join our Red Group if they have applied in advance and there is room on our waiting list. This room is located upstairs in the setting and allows the children to thrive in a classroom environment similar to what they will experience when they advance to primary school the following year. Activities that are on offer to the children are changed weekly and they often learn about topics such as space and healthy eating throughout their time in Nursery. 

Red group are split into smaller key groups between our three nursery teachers, Mrs Bates, Mrs Burroughs and Mrs Bowden. The teachers work hard to ensure that the children are school ready and develop skills that will put them in good stead for learning productively as they journey through the school system. 

Red Group offer many independent learning activities alongside adult led teaching to advance the children's understanding of both maths and literacy. The children come together on the carpet for small group time, story and singing throughout the morning session. You can see our red group morning timetable here.

The children often feel proud to attend our Red Group nursery and tell interesting stories about their learning to the teachers and younger children during lunch club and afternoon sessions in the main room.
