Our main room is a large area for children to explore and learn through creative play. Children between the ages of 2 and 3 are split into key groups during morning sessions in the main room, either when they initially start with us or if they transition up from our Rainbow Room.
This room is significantly larger than the other rooms in the setting and therefore the majority of our teachers can be found here during the morning sessions. The large space allows the children to play independently and imaginatively with their peers throughout the day. Mrs Henman, Mrs Surridge and Mrs Sergeant take great care of their key children and the team works well together to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all of the children throughout the session.
There are many activities on offer to the children in the main room that are often rotated throughout the sessions and changed weekly. Children always have access to an art, music, role play, water and sand area, they can also use the large climbing equipment, story time corner and snack area if they choose. You can see our main room morning timetable here.
The room is familiar to all of the children at Preschool as it is used when we all come together at the end of a morning session for singing, music and movement activities. Our lunch club and afternoon sessions are also held solely in our Main Room area, which allows us to provide space for both eating and playing simultaneously.
